The YMCA is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as a full-time Youth Program Manager, responsible for fostering relationships and overseeing our youth initiatives.
Position Summary:
The Youth Program Manager will spearhead the promotion, administration, and execution of youth programs. This role includes assisting with budget preparation and maintaining a comprehensive system of records and reports. The ideal candidate should be flexible to work evenings and weekends to support various activities such as camps, clinics, practices, and games. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask while effectively communicating with parents, volunteers, and children are essential.
Qualifications:
• An Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience with youth programs is advantageous.
• Proven skills in human relations, verbal communication, and written communication.
• Proficient in PC applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead and coordinate programs through effective supervision of volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, coordinate, and supervise all program activities to align with YMCA objectives.
2. Expand youth sports and adult activity programs within the community, adhering to strategic and operational plans.
3. Secure and schedule athletic fields and facilities.
4. Transport and set up equipment for activities; monitor and procure necessary sporting equipment as budget allows.
5. Create teams from registrations and organize parent orientation meetings, training sessions, and meetings for staff, coaches, and volunteers.
6. Develop and distribute practice and event schedules; train and schedule sports officials; create and disseminate rules, guidelines, and handbooks.
7. Organize and conduct clinics, trips, special activities, and events; assist in fundraising activities and special events.
8. Assist in marketing and distributing information about youth sports and adult activity programs; may organize and schedule program registrations.
9. Review and forward program scholarship applications for processing.
10. Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
11. Respond promptly to inquiries and complaints from staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
12. Compile program statistics, data, and reports; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participation.
13. Develop and manage department budgets related to the position.
14. Recruit and train program support staff and volunteers.
15. Facilitate communication and provide leadership among staff, volunteers, and members.
16. Ensure compliance with state and local regulations and maintain program standards and safety procedures.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certifications are required and can be obtained upon hire.
