Job Summary

The Material and Color Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the development and quality of all fabrications by serving as a liaison between Merchandising, Design, Product Development, and factories. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to provide fabric and content guidance to achieve the desired result.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align with Merchandising and Design on overall fabric direction for the season to propose options that follow trends, performance, and product requirements.
  • Work with factories on new materials and technologies that are on-brand to showcase to internal teams.
  • Request, review, and log all materials test reports from development through production, ensuring company compliance standards are met.
  • Collaborate with Product Development to manage milestones to ensure on-time delivery of quality product ready for market.
  • Develop solutions for fabric/trim quality issues during development and bulk.
  • Manage print and color development from creation to final approval, tracking strike-offs, lab dips, and related approval needs.
  • Order Pantone swatches and create physical color boards for reference.
  • Assist in maintaining fabric and color libraries in our PLM.
  • Ensure all lab dips, bulk dye lots, and strike-offs are approved and production-ready at specific deadlines.
  • Monitor and maintain development communication with vendors daily.
  • Travel internationally for key development milestones and vendor partnerships.
Requirements
  • College degree in Fabric/Material Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of fabric-related experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Depth of knowledge in fabric engineering and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with various teams.
  • Attention to detail, well-organized, and calendar-driven.
  • Excellent time management skills with superb organization.
