Optometrist Job Description

Hopi Health Care Center is seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team.

Job Summary:

As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing full-scope primary eye care services to our patients. This includes obtaining and documenting medical and ophthalmic histories, conducting comprehensive ophthalmic exams, and developing effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe eyewear, contact lenses, and oral and ophthalmic medications as needed
  • Order ancillary testing, including ophthalmic imaging studies and visual field testing
  • Perform minor surgical procedures, such as foreign body removal and papilloma excision
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for various ophthalmic surgeries

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a clinical optometrist
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Active, unrestricted, and free of disciplinary action license as an optometrist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States

Work Schedule:

Full-time assignments shall attend assigned meetings. Work week is Sunday 12:00 AM to Saturday 11:59 PM. Full Time Shift Schedules: 8 hour shifts: Monday 0800 1700, Tuesday 0800 1700, Wednesday 0800 1700, Thursday 0800 1700, Friday 0800 1700.
