We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain monitoring equipment in the operating room, including the operating table, autotransfusion system, electrocardiograph (ECG), and other essential devices.
- Assist with Surgical Procedures: Assist anesthesiologists and surgeons during surgical procedures, including inserting arterial pressure lines, central venous and Swan-Ganz catheter insertion, and drawing blood samples for diagnostic testing.
- Calibrate and Troubleshoot Equipment: Calibrate all pressures and recording systems within the patient monitoring system to ensure precise readings and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or failures.
- Supply Management and Inventory: Maintain an adequate supply of necessary equipment and supplies, including needles, syringes, air-ways, endotracheal tubes, scopes, and blades.
- Team Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 year of experience in a surgical, medical, or related healthcare setting.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months of employment.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, and push/pull with 30 pounds of force.
- Work Environment: Working atmosphere may contain fumes and odors from the operating room.
