Job Title: CLS III Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CLS III Lead to join our team at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. As a CLS III Lead, you will be responsible for supervising the daily operation of the laboratory section, providing consultative services to the medical staff, and overseeing the section's performance improvement program.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operation of the laboratory section, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Provide consultative services to the medical staff, including technical consultation and quality management.
  • Oversee the section's performance improvement program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and update section policy and procedure manuals.
  • Review quality control performance, ensuring documentation of corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications.
  • Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures, including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and other disciplines as introduced into the laboratory.
  • Ensure the performance and documentation of equipment maintenance, daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed.
  • Recognize age-specific differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics.
  • Ensure that testing of proficiency testing samples is performed in the same manner as patient samples, and collaboration with other laboratories is prohibited prior to reporting proficiency testing results to the appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure the currency of all laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and human resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science (AKA Medical Lab Science or Medical Technology) or related BS from an accredited college.
  • Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure and possesses a valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada - or is eligible to work while pending.
  • Minimum 3-years clinical laboratory experience required; 5-years clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Ability to work and problem-solve independently.
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed preferred.
