POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Cash Handling Specialist is tasked with executing cashier responsibilities, which include managing cash transactions, balancing the cash drawer, providing change, compiling cash receipts, and generating financial reports. The role may also involve supporting general food service operations while maintaining cleanliness standards in both service and dining areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Confirm and balance cash at the start of each shift.
  • Operate the cash register, process payments, and issue receipts.
  • Ensure adequate cash levels are maintained in the drawer.
  • Compile transaction reports and reconcile cash totals.
  • Handle credit card transactions and manage returned items.
  • Accurately scan and input product prices.
  • Ensure prompt and precise transaction completion.
  • Adhere to sanitation protocols and enforce security measures.
  • Follow safety guidelines and engage in training sessions.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficient decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Prior experience in a cashier role is essential.
  • Completion of ServSafe Food Handler Certification within the first month of employment.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with ALOHA point of sale system is preferred.
