The Compliant Documentation Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent analytical and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively with healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities- Review medical records to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff to resolve documentation issues and improve clinical documentation practices
- Participate in team meetings and education sessions to promote best practices and share knowledge
- Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical documentation and reduce errors
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Registered Nurse in West Virginia or ability to obtain a WV RN license by hire
- Bachelor's Degree with clinical background
- 5+ years of experience in clinical documentation improvement or related field
- Compliant Documentation Improvement Specialist Certification preferred
- Adult ICU experience (2 years)
- Knowledge of Pathophysiology and Disease Process
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based software programs
