Financial Controller

At Astrolab, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, daily cash reporting, purchase order control, fixed assets, billing, collections, payroll, and bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards, as well as experience with accounting software such as NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, daily cash reporting, purchase order control, fixed assets, billing, collections, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the annual budget process, producing monthly budget analysis, reviewing transactions to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures relating to company financial issues.
  • Perform and review all GAAP financial schedules.
  • Supervise the accounting staff and communicate all appropriate information to various operations in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including experience in a senior role.
  • Direct experience in government contracting environment, including experience with different contract types (Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Reimbursement, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. NetSuite) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
