The Building Automation Systems Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of software architecture, database development, and the establishment of protocols and standards utilized in the programming of control systems projects.


Key Responsibilities:
As an integral member of the Albireo Energy team, the Building Automation Systems Specialist will focus on creating program and operator interface visuals for building automation systems, which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Analyzing project specifications, drawings, and relevant documents to clarify project objectives.
  • Segmenting the scope of work into manageable tasks and coordinating with the Project Manager for scheduling.
  • Participating in or reviewing minutes from graphics review meetings with clients.
  • Submitting project-specific Request for Information (RFI) documentation to the System Engineer, Project Manager, and Engineering Manager.
  • Adhering to the sequence of operations as dictated by project documents and engineered sequences, using established standards and libraries.
  • Assisting in the startup and commissioning of large systems, such as Air Handling Units (AHUs), chiller plants, or other utility systems, which includes the installation and configuration of workstations, servers, and networks.
  • Working independently or collaborating within small teams.
  • Cooperating with field technicians to diagnose and resolve software-related issues.
  • Identifying and rectifying Building Management System (BMS) integration challenges.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Alerton/BAS programming is required.
  • Familiarity with mechanical HVAC systems and their operational sequences.
  • Experience in building automation programming (Function Block, Ladder, or Text-based preferred) or other programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, VBA). Knowledge of Delta and Tridium is advantageous.
  • A comprehensive understanding of electrical and network wiring, along with the programming of BAS components.
  • Proficient computer skills and a strong command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel); AutoCAD, Visual Basic, Visio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent the company to clients and external contacts in a professional and ethical manner.
  • A solid understanding of Modbus and BACnet protocols and their integration into BAS systems.
  • Willingness to travel (50% in-office and 50% fieldwork) and work on construction sites for commissioning and startup activities.
Compensation:
Salary range is $90k-$120K, depending on experience.
