Role Summary:

The Resident Care Nurse plays a pivotal role in supporting the Resident Care Director in the comprehensive execution, delivery, and management of care services for residents within the community. This position involves formulating care plans for residents, coordinating their healthcare needs, and ensuring meticulous documentation in compliance with state regulations. Additionally, the nurse will oversee the medication management program and may have supervisory duties within the Resident Care Department, acting as Manager on Duty or on-call as designated by the Director. This role is essential in maintaining adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date care plans for all residents under supervision.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to nursing staff.
  • Adhere to and implement physician's directives.
  • Accurately transcribe physician's orders in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily reviews of resident records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Document thorough and precise nursing notes.
  • Report any unusual or significant observations and consult with physicians as necessary.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain a secure and accurate inventory of all medications under responsibility.
  • Initiate emergency procedures as required.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
