Job Title: Direct Support Professional 3

Bridgewell is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional 3 to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live safe, self-directed, and productive lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional 3 will provide daily support and supervision to individuals in our Level 3 residential programs. This role requires a high level of skill and expertise in activities of daily living, as well as the ability to create opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and foster independence.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support and assistance with skills training in all activities of daily living.
  2. Create opportunities for individuals to make decisions and develop their skills, promoting independence and self-directed living.
  3. Ensure compliance with DDS, DMH, MassHealth, HUD, DPH, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards, as well as Bridgewell policies and procedures.
  4. Provide support and assistance with medical, clinical, and financial needs.
  5. Transport and accompany individuals as needed to and from medical, recreational, and other activities outside the program.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation according to regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies.
  7. Assist individuals in accessing resources and recreational opportunities in the community.
  8. Administer medications according to MAP regulations, as applicable.
  9. Maintain core training certifications, including FA/CPR, PABC, and MAP.
  10. Develop positive relationships with guardians, family members, and other stakeholders.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or DSP certification preferred.
  2. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  2. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  3. Valid driver's license and minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
  4. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft products and web-based applications used by the agency.
Physical Demands:
  1. Frequent climbing of stairs.
  2. Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
  3. Regular driving and meeting driving record requirements.
  4. Normal range of eyesight with or without corrective lenses.
  5. Normal range of hearing with or without corrective equipment.
