Job Summary

Mid-State Industrial Maintenance is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures. You will work on underground cable and conduit installation, terminating, and equipment installation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Work on underground cable and conduit installation, terminating, and equipment installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work.
  • Identify safety risks and take necessary precautions to eliminate them.
  • Perform tasks such as cutting, bending, and running conduit as specified on blueprints.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  • Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment.
  • Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and ensure they are in good operational condition.
  • Setup and maintain temporary power systems.
  • Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience as an Industrial Electrician Helper or above.
  • Must possess all knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must be able to work at heights over 300 ft.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Electrician.

Working Environment
  • Location: 2730 Mine and Mill Road, Lakeland, FL.
  • This is a full-time position with varying days and hours of work, including some overnight work, and frequent overtime.
  • Working environment is often in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) and industrial environments with exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness: The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Control Precision: The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Finger Dexterity: The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Multi-limb Coordination: The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.
  • Reaction Time: The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
  • Hearing Sensitivity: The ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness.
  • Near Vision: The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Information Ordering: The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Depth Perception: The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object.
  • Extent Flexibility: The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Oral Comprehension: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Static Strength: The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
