Job Title: Genetic Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Genetic Counselor to join our team at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. As a Genetic Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing genetic counseling to high-risk patients and their families.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Genetic Counselor will provide genetic counseling to high-risk patients and their families, investigating family history, interpreting genetic disorders, and explaining risks and advising patients of the importance of informing family members of risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide genetic counseling to high-risk patients and their families
  • Investigate family history and interpret genetic disorders
  • Explain risks and advise patients of the importance of informing family members of risks
  • Coordinate genetic counseling, genetic testing, and genetic testing results visits
  • Collaborate with medical team in developing recommendations for patients and their family members regarding screening and management of risks
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Genetics or Genetic Counseling
  • Genetic Counselor License issued by the PA State Board of Medicine
  • Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counselors (ABGC)
