Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our team at IBM Research. This role involves developing and optimizing plasma etch processes for semiconductors and related devices, including cutting-edge logic, emerging memories, and advanced packaging.

As a Plasma Etch Specialist, you will create and analyze advanced patterning sequences and define the path for leading patterning methodologies from concept through implementation. You must have a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of plasma etch and be able to share that knowledge with colleagues.

This position requires interaction with cross-functional and multi-company working teams, including engineers engaged in unit process development, process integration, design/layout, materials and process development, and computational technology.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location. We offer a competitive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, financial programs, paid time off, training and educational resources, and more.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-15 years industry experience in plasma etch process development
  • Industry experience in a semiconductor research and development environment
  • Strong analytical and design-of-experiment knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
