Job Description Summary:

As a key member of the Finance Service Team, this role performs a variety of financial and budgeting activities to support projects within a division's portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to ensure compliance with financial regulations and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile monthly financial statements and project expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with budget and award requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partner to prepare ad-hoc reports and provide financial analysis to support project budget preparation and projection.
  • Monitor project activity balances and ensure costs are recorded timely, within budget, allowable, and allocated to the correct award.
  • Prepare time and cost transfers, initiate transfer of funds for executed contracts and amendments, and coordinate the dissemination of information through queries and reports.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • One year of related professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to solve problems using selection and application of rules, procedures, and precedents.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and excellent communication skills.
Work Environment:

This role is expected to work in a hybrid office/telecommute environment with occasional travel between National Academies' facilities and to off-site locations.
