Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to improve the security posture of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The selected candidate will monitor networks, respond to incidents, manage vulnerabilities, and promote security awareness. The ideal candidate will utilize multiple technologies to detect and respond to security threats, recommending appropriate controls to the MIT community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor networks and systems for potential security threats
  • Respond to and manage security incidents
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Promote security awareness across the organization


Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field and at least three years' information security experience; broad understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts; experience with security tools; working knowledge of security best practices; and strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED: related security certification and proficiency with scripting languages.
