The Rutland Regional Medical Center seeks a strategic leader to oversee the Health Information Management (HIM) and Information Security functions. As the Director of HIM and Information Security, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing these critical services within our hospital. This role requires collaboration with management, providers, staff, and patients to optimize document imaging, chart analysis, and document storage processes. You will ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including HIPAA and HITECH, and uphold generally accepted HIM best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HIM and Information Security strategies to meet the hospital's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and HIPAA Privacy Officer to operationalize information security measures, controls, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Provide strategic advice on information security needs, risks, and impacts to the overall IT strategic plan.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patient data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • 7 years of Health Information Management experience or related healthcare experience.
  • 2 years working in an information security-related role.
  • Experience with healthcare software applications.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialty Certification in one or more of the following areas: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified in Healthcare Privacy & Security (CHPS), Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP, CIPT, or CISM).

Salary Range: $90,000 - $143,000
