Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a BMD Training and Operations Expert. This role is responsible for overseeing the training and certification of all ships within the Pacific Fleet, with a specific emphasis on Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems.
Main Responsibilities:- Training and Certification:
- Oversee the training and certification of all ships within the Pacific Fleet, with a specific emphasis on Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) systems.
- Operational Support:
- Serve as a Qualified Radar Systems Controller (RSC) on Aegis BMD or equivalent platforms, ensuring effective operation and configuration of radar systems.
- Instructor/Trainer Role:
- Provide instruction and training to personnel on BMD systems and operations, contributing to the development of a skilled workforce ready for immediate deployment.
- Program Quality Control:
- Collaborate with the CNSP/ATGPAC team to draft and recommend improvements to training standards and practices.
- Data Analysis and Monitoring:
- Monitor, analyze, and track ships during training exercises, ensuring adherence to established training standards.
- Support for BMD Certification:
- Participate in the generation and certification of BMD training requirements, providing essential support for mission area certification.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- Surface Navy Experience: 2 years of surface Navy experience as a Qualified Radar Systems Controller (RSC) on an Aegis BMD or equivalent platform.
- Instructor/Trainer Experience:
- 2 years of experience as an instructor/trainer or operational experience on a BMD-configured Aegis ship or within a BMD command/agency.
- BMD Certification:
- Experience participating in the completion of a BMD deployment certification or similar training as an RSC.
Knowledge Areas:
- BMD Concepts:
- A strong understanding of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) concepts and the development of comprehensive intelligence scenario products for BMD training.
- Certification Events:
- Familiarity with Surface BMD Basic Phase training certification events.
- BMD Tactics and Technical Systems:
- An in-depth knowledge of BMD tactics, technical systems, and instructions, including COMNAVSURFORINST 8820.2 series requirements and tactical memorandums.
- AEGIS Combat Systems:
- A comprehensive knowledge of the AEGIS Combat Systems, including its components and operational instructions.
- BMD Command and Control:
- An understanding of BMD Command and Control issues, particularly regarding surveillance, engagement, and planning functions required for various numbered fleets.
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
