Pathology Laboratory Specialist

At Novant Health, we are seeking a skilled Pathology Technician I to join our team in the Anatomic Pathology department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various specimen processing procedures, including specimen pickups, cytology processing, and preparation of touch prep slides and smears. They will also be responsible for maintaining gross rooms, stain lines, and restocking lab areas.
Additionally, the Pathology Technician I will be responsible for accurately and chronologically filing slides, ensuring quality, productivity, and efficiency. They will also be responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science preferred. One year of relevant pathology and/or cytology specimen processing experience is also preferred.
The Pathology Technician I will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also be required to follow written protocols and maintain a safe patient environment.
