Job Title: Financial Controller
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
About the Company: Classic Toyota of Hampton is seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in managing our financial operations.
Position Overview: As our organization grows, we are in search of a proactive Financial Controller to guarantee the precision of our financial records. This role is essential in implementing robust compliance protocols and overseeing critical controls to achieve our financial objectives. Responsibilities include managing cash flow, receivables, reserves, and overseeing product cancellations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily bank transactions, including ACH and wire transfers, with a strong emphasis on meticulous record-keeping
- Conduct daily reconciliations of all bank accounts to ensure financial integrity
- Facilitate timely updates and postings of monthly standard entries by mid-month
- Maintain fixed asset schedules in alignment with general ledger accounts
- Work collaboratively with office personnel to ensure efficient task execution
- Prepare reports for management and department heads as required
- Ensure timely preparation of various tax documentation
- Accurately complete end-of-month procedures and financial statement reporting in accordance with established guidelines
- Regularly review and maintain accounting schedules on a monthly basis
- Complete monthly account reconciliations and generate reports
- Ensure timely reporting and payment of finance product sales documents each month
- Promptly dispatch accounts payable checks each month
- Identify opportunities for enhancing office operational efficiency
- Conduct weekly financial review meetings with company managers
- Assist in budget formulation alongside the CFO and dealership managers
- Reconcile and submit Monthly Parts accounts to the CFO
- Coordinate Monthly Physical inventories for the CFO and Operations Director
- Ensure accurate processing of title work
- Manage vehicle inventory daily upon receipt
- Handle accounting entries for various sales on a daily basis
- Review outstanding repair orders and parts tickets for timely closure
- Conduct monthly physical inventory reconciliations
- Dispatch monthly accounts receivable statements and ensure effective collections
- Regularly reconcile Work in Progress (WIP)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a controller or 4 years as an office manager in automotive dealerships
- Familiarity with CDK DMS system and related platforms is preferred
