Job Summary

Colorado Mountain College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMT Skills Assistant II to provide clinical support and training services in our EMS programs. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the delivery of high-quality training and education to our students, ensuring they receive the best possible preparation for their future careers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and guide students in the performance of EMS skills, ensuring they meet the required standards and competencies.
  • Work closely with lead instructors to organize, prepare, and maintain equipment and materials for training sessions.
  • Participate in EMT training labs and simulations, including activities such as emergency communication, patient vitals, and emergency care protocol and prioritization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including supply management, equipment maintenance, and ambulance readiness checks.
Requirements
  • National or state certification as an EMT-B, plus documented experience and competency in all BLS skills.
  • Ability to train others in proficiency with automated external defibrillator, advanced life support equipment, and skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, instructors, and other staff members.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-stress situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to transport patients and provide emergency care, as required.
Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
