We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Registry Abstractor to join our team at Manatee Memorial Hospital. As a Cancer Registry Abstractor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer data for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract cancer cases using ICD-O manual, STORE manual, SEER Heme/Lymph Database, and other necessary manuals/rules.
- Ensure data quality and accuracy through thorough review and verification of abstracted data.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely data submission.
- Maintain CTR credential and complete continuing education requirements for maintenance.
- Pass the Florida Cancer Data System abstractor test annually.
- High school graduate or GED; Associate's degree preferred; CTR, CTR eligible.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Two years cancer registry abstracting experience, with working knowledge of cancer registry abstracting systems and electronic medical records.
- Experience with ERS/CRStar and Cerner PowerChart preferred, but not required.
