Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers: Work closely with general education teachers to develop and implement co-teaching models that promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Design and Deliver Instruction: Design and deliver instruction that is academically rigorous, culturally relevant, and tailored to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Assess and Analyze Student Progress: Regularly assess and analyze student progress, using data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain a Safe and Inclusive Learning Environment: Establish and maintain a safe, caring, and orderly learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Special Education: A master's degree in special education or a related field is preferred.
  • New York State Certification: New York State certification in students with disabilities (grades 7-12) is required.
  • Experience Working with Students with Disabilities: Prior experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
