Ambulatory Care Technician Certified Role at University Hospital, Newark NJ

The Ambulatory Care Technician Certified position is responsible for supporting patients and providers throughout the ambulatory care patient visit, from registration through discharge and follow-up. The technician structures patient flow for physicians during examination and treatment, administers injections as directed, and supports front-end and clinical office procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support patients and providers during ambulatory care visits, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Coordinate patient flow for physicians, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Support front-end and clinical office procedures, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
  • Current certification from recognized boards or licensing in the State of New Jersey.
  • Experience in administration of intramuscular and subcutaneous techniques, with a strong understanding of medical procedures.
  • Completion of annual review of medication administration, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • At least one year of related experience in a medical office setting, with a proven track record of success.
  • Computer proficiency and bilingual skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledgeable in Managed Care and Health Insurance in New Jersey, with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations.

Credential required: Current certification from recognized boards; CPR certification.
