Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exam rooms for provider evaluations, ensuring all necessary medical supplies are available.
  • Collect and report patient data, incorporating organizational competencies under the supervision of Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses.
  • Assist with data collection for nursing history and physical, communicating changes to the RN or CRNP in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient and family information to the RN or CRNP for coordination of care.
  • Maintain a safe environment, protecting patients from injury by observing those at risk for falls, confusion, disorientation, wandering, or suicidal behaviors.
  • Participate in staff meetings and perform periodic quality control on urinalysis and pregnancy tests.
  • Assist physicians or CRNPs with physical exams and document findings and patient results on patient documents and in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Evaluate nursing care given by comparing the patient's functional status from day to day and discussing this with the nurse.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification.
  • CNA Certification by the State of Pennsylvania.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
