Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician II to join our team at Olympus Corporation of the Americas. This role will assist engineers and senior technicians with coordinating and implementing projects, installing and maintaining shop floor workstations and equipment, and recommending cost-effective process procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with engineering staff to solve technical, process, and quality problems.
  • Assist engineers in writing process steps for new processes.
  • Conduct process and equipment installations.
  • Review and revise current routers, prints, and processes as needed.
  • Assist engineers in production line formation setup and modifications.
  • Participate in and assist with dFMEA and pFMEA meetings.
  • Conduct engineering studies and experiments.
  • Review and resolve facilities and ergonomic issues related to project implementation.
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and other related materials.
  • Provide cost reduction recommendations.
  • Identify parts and supplies needed to support product or process implementation.
  • Train operators, supervisors, and other employees on the use of new equipment and/or processes.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement measures.
  • Address Change Orders (CO's) in a timely manner.
  • Aide engineers in design, implementation, and qualification of production processes, tooling, and fixtures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering or technical degree preferred or equivalent and 3+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong decision-making sense of urgency skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics desired.
  • Able to perform required duties with minimum supervision.
