Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Cycle Quality and Standards Coach to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our Revenue Cycle department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing best practice-based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Patient Access/Pre-Arrival Unit workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement SOPs for Patient Access/Pre-Arrival Unit workflows, ensuring operational alignment with stakeholders.
  • Train Patient Access/Pre-Arrival Unit team members on new and revised workflows, providing ongoing support and monitoring.
  • Evaluate adherence to SOPs and operational quality by analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Identify and develop best practice-based Patient Access/Pre-Arrival Unit workflows, including workflows, SOPs, and tools.
  • Provide operational workflow training classes on a regular and as-needed basis for Patient Access/Pre-Arrival Unit.
  • Monitor denial reports to identify opportunities for improvement based on registration and authorization denial trends.
  • Perform time studies to identify issues in the process prohibiting productivity and/or causing excessive denials.
  • Provide weekly reporting to Supervisors regarding quality and audit checks on employees.
Requirements
  • High School or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred in education, health, or IT-related majors.
  • 3 years relevant experience in a Patient Access Role, Pre-Arrival Unit Role, Epic Registration Training, Revenue Cycle at UVA Health System.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) by the NAHAM, required within 18 months of hire date.
Working Conditions

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion, computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
