Interventional Radiology Specialist

The Interventional Radiology Specialist is responsible for executing both interventional and diagnostic imaging procedures under the guidance of a licensed physician. This role utilizes advanced radiologic techniques to aid in the assessment of patient health issues across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the interventional radiologist during a variety of imaging procedures
  • Adhere to safety protocols regarding radiation and laser usage
  • Perform venipuncture as required
  • Accurately position patients to demonstrate anatomical structures
  • Operate specialized interventional radiology machinery and support systems
  • Utilize hospital and departmental information systems for precise documentation
  • Provide care and imaging services to patients of diverse age ranges
  • Coordinate examinations within the department and liaise with other departments
  • Manage incoming calls and offer information to patients and their families
  • Engage in the department's quality enhancement initiatives
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and ensure a hygienic work environment
Qualifications:

A graduate from an accredited radiologic technology program with certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is mandatory. Cardiovascular or Vascular Interventional certification is advantageous. A valid state medical radiographer license is essential. Additionally, Basic Life Support (CPR) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) certifications are required.
