Job Summary

The Telecom Apprentice will assist in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of telecommunication systems and associated processes under the guidance of a licensed Telecom Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the installation of telecommunication systems, including data cable installations, open wiring, and cable trays.
  • Assist with the installation of relays, racks, cabinets, and network switches.
  • Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards using a cable analyzer.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by the workplace leader, including site housekeeping and maintenance of strict adherence to safety rules and quality.
Requirements
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • 0-4 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship.
  • Highly focused on customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Good documentation and record keeping.
  • Preparation of miscellaneous paperwork, including time sheets and daily reports.
  • Understanding of and strict adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Appropriate state certification or license.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
