Telecommunications Apprentice Job Details

**Job Summary:**

The Telecommunications Apprentice will participate in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and associated processes alongside a licensed Telecom Technician.

**Responsibilities:**

* Participate in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and associated processes
* Work with sketches and blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed correctly
* Assist with the installation of cable supports, fire stopping materials, and data cable installations
* Test cables to TIA/EIA level II standards with a cable analyzer
* Perform other routine duties as directed by the workplace leader

**Requirements:**

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* 0-4 years of field experience, trade school, or apprenticeship
* Good documentation and record keeping
* Preparation of miscellaneous paperwork, including time sheets and daily reports
* Understanding of and adherence to daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
* Appropriate state certification or license

**Work Environment:**

The Telecommunications Apprentice will work in a variety of settings, including construction sites, offices, and other project sites. The physical demands of the job include the ability to climb ladders, crawl, and work from aerial lifts. The ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 50 lbs is also required.
