Position Overview:

Avery Dennison is currently in search of a Product Compliance Specialist to support our Reflective and Digital Ink Solutions (DIS) divisions. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at assisting operations, customer support, sales, marketing, and product development with compliance-related information, mentorship, and strategies tailored to meet customer needs and regulatory standards. The specialist will also play a crucial role in managing customer-facing communications and marketing efforts related to compliance, while overseeing governance of compliance processes and data management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams on strategic initiatives to leverage compliance for product differentiation and competitive advantage.
  • Monitor new developments in product compliance and safety, updating the business to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding compliance of Reflective and DIS products with various regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers to gather current compliance data for Reflective and DIS products.
  • Work with suppliers and team members to maintain a comprehensive database of compliance and safety information.
  • Coordinate product safety testing as necessary to meet regulatory standards or customer requirements.
  • Create or update material safety data sheets for both new and existing products.
  • Seek guidance from corporate product compliance for complex compliance issues.
  • Participate in new product development processes, providing compliance mentorship from project inception to product launch.
  • Maintain and update the new product/R&D dashboard.
  • Implement corporate compliance guidance for new product regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in teams and initiatives that support company objectives.
  • Lead training sessions for internal and external stakeholders on compliance topics.
  • Provide technical assistance to cross-functional teams regarding compliance issues.
  • Handle all confidential matters with the utmost discretion.
  • Develop processes to enhance overall efficiency and improve product compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in compliance, including product compliance, stewardship, or EHS.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects independently, demonstrating initiative and tact.
  • Familiarity with GHS and SDS hazard classifications.
  • Experience in handling confidential matters.
  • Willingness to take on increased responsibilities and adapt to business demands.
  • Proficiency in applicable computer systems and software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Robust analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail in typing, spelling, and grammar.
  • Functional reporting to the Director of Product Compliance.
