Job Title: Collector - Portsmouth, NH

The Collector, also known as the Payment Resolution Specialist, plays a crucial role in collecting payments and managing potential losses for the Lighthouse Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contacts members and co-members with delinquent loans at the early stages of delinquency to arrange a suitable repayment schedule.
  • Performs timely follow-ups on all types of loans assigned.
  • Works with members to resolve problems by researching and investigating possible solutions.
  • Codes member's accounts to alert other departments within the Credit Union of delinquent loans and other collection issues.
  • Promotes credit union services.
  • Performs skip tracing as required.
  • Records actions, conversations, and recommendations in the collection history notes to ensure accurate and adequate information is maintained at all times.
  • Consults with members requesting extensions and refinancing; prepares necessary documentation and refers to management with recommendation.
  • Works with other departments within the Credit Union to resolve delinquencies and prevent future problems.
  • Coordinates closing of approved collection-initiated refinances. Ensures necessary paperwork is complete. Closes loans if necessary.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role or related business field utilizing these skills.
  • Previous experience in collections or loan processing is desirable.
  • Prior sales experience a plus.
