Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented 3rd Shift Set Up Technician to join our team at LMT - Hartville. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our injection molding machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mold Installation and Maintenance: Properly install and maintain molds on injection molding machines, including those with SM process.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the cleanliness of the mold's parting line, including cavity/core inserts and part chute or conveyor belt, after mold installation.
  • Mold Removal and Storage: Clean and protect the mold's parting line, including all cavity and core components, and lubricate leader pins, bushings, and other moving parts before mold removal. Store removed molds in their designated location.
  • Machine Operation: Familiarize yourself with all types of injection machine controllers in use on the floor and operate machines safely and efficiently.
  • Communication and Training: Communicate any mold/machine issues or damage to the assistant supervisor, supervisor, or engineering team. Train personnel in grinding and material handling, and provide supporting documentation.
  • Tool Maintenance: Care for supplied tools and report any missing or broken tools to the maintenance team.
  • Backup and Support: Provide backup support to the assistant supervisor position and have the ability to start up injection machines as needed.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Training: Must be certified to operate a forklift and have prior experience with injection machine processes.
  • Safety Protocols: Must work safely and use all safety precautions when operating equipment and handling materials.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights necessary at times.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in injection molding manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Must have a working knowledge of injection molding manufacturing floor, mold storage, and handling procedures.
