As a Patient Care Associate, you will work collaboratively with registered nurses to provide high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Perform selected procedures or assist with treatments and procedures as delegated by the nurse, adhering to Presbyterian Medical Center's policy and procedure.
- Integrate cost-effective measures into nursing practice, maintaining and utilizing unit supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- Manage workload and complete assignments on time, responding flexibly to the needs of the unit.
- Collaborate with the registered nurse to plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care, collecting and recording admission data on appropriate forms.
- Document observations and care rendered on the patient record in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining confidentiality and respecting patient rights.
- Handle patient belongings according to Presbyterian Medical Center's Policy and Procedures, assisting patients in the proper handling of valuable and personal belongings.
- Assist the patient in gathering personal belongings at time of transfer or discharge, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Perform glucose monitoring quality control, adhering to safety and infection control standards, and participating in departmental and organizational efforts to design, measure, assess, and improve performance.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and hospital personnel, welcoming and orienting patients and families using Presbyterian Medical Center's standards of guest relations.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Certified Nurse Aid (Required)
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
- CNA certification or nursing student who has successfully completed a clinical rotation in their nursing program.
