About the Role:


As a Dialysis Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients undergoing dialysis treatment.


Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
• Provide patient education on dialysis procedures and disease processes
• Welcome patients, assess their well-being and evaluate vascular access
• Perform vascular access cannulation and heparin administration
• Initiate and monitor dialysis treatments, including blood flow and dialysate flow
• Respond to intradialytic problems and provide appropriate interventions
• Document patient information accurately and timely
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout treatment
• Assist with patient discharge and home dialysis education

Technical Skills:
• Operate hemodialysis machines proficiently
• Calculate and enter patient-specific dialysis machine programming
• Ensure appropriate safety alarms are enabled
• Prepare and organize supplies and equipment

Quality Improvement:
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures
• Assist with training staff on appropriate programs

Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED
• 1 year of Dialysis Patient Care Technician experience in the last 2 years
• Current state and/or national certification as required by CMS
• Strong clinical skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
