Job Summary

As a Patient Care Specialist at Temple University Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the registered nurse. Your responsibilities will include implementing components of the plan of care through the initiation/completion of procedures relating to basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care needs; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. You will also be responsible for measuring vital signs, performing ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing, and other Unit Secretary, Patient Transport and Environment of Care duties.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Successful completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, EMT training program or Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation (Required)
1 Year experience in a related patient care role (Preferred)
License/Certifications
BLS - Basic Life Support (Required)
