This role is dedicated to the assessment and management of patients with pulmonary conditions in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The ideal candidate will:

  • Oversee the treatment of both acute and chronic pulmonary disorders, utilizing their full scope of practice.
  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, document clinical findings, and develop timely care plans, including the ability to prescribe medications and order necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Engage in team meetings, contribute to policy development, and participate in quality improvement projects.

Key aspects of the position and candidate qualifications:

  • Practice location: Atrium Health Cabarrus.
  • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with potential night and weekend shifts as required for critical staffing needs.
  • The APP will alternate between inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program is mandatory.
  • Nurse practitioners must possess an acute care master's degree or a doctorate in nursing practice, along with ACNP certification from a recognized body.
  • Physician Assistants must hold certification from the National Commission on Certification of PAs.
  • 1-2 years of experience as an APP is preferred; fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine or relevant experience is advantageous.
  • A valid North Carolina license, DEA registration, BLS, and ACLS certifications are required.
