Position: Advanced Practice Provider at Atrium Health
Atrium Health is a prominent community-oriented academic healthcare organization serving the regions of North Carolina and South Carolina. We are currently in search of skilled Advanced Practice Providers to become integral members of our Surgery Care and Women's Health Divisions located in Concord, North Carolina.
- Assignments include nighttime shifts and responsibilities for cross-covering between the Acute Care Surgery and Gynecologic Oncology departments.
- Collaborate with an in-house Acute Care Surgeon while maintaining communication with Gynecologic Oncology attending physicians regarding patient care.
- Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory on an alternating basis.
- Opportunities available for teaching residents and/or Advanced Practice Provider Fellows.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess or be eligible for a DEA license and be authorized to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in their respective state. Eligibility for prescriptive authority through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in North Carolina is required. A current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA is mandatory, with an expiration date extending beyond 90 days from the start of practice. Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities, effective interpersonal skills, and the capacity to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS are preferred.
- Nurse Practitioner: A Master's Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice is required. A valid Registered Nurse license is essential. Certification in the relevant area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is mandatory. Acute Care board certification is required based on the population and acuity served.
- Physician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program is required, with a master's degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is also preferred.
