SSM Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Nurse to join our team in the Medical Respiratory Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess and Plan: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with respiratory and medical illnesses, including COPD, TB, PE, pneumonia, respiratory failure, tracheostomies, and stable ventilators, as well as general medical illnesses such as multi-system disease, renal failure, CHF, and cardiomyopathy.
- Implement and Evaluate: Develop and implement individualized care plans, utilizing evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work effectively with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to coordinate care, share information, and achieve shared goals.
- Provide Education and Support: Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote health and well-being.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience: No experience required, but a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is essential.
- Licenses and Certifications: Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri or eligibility for licensure, as well as certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
The Medical Respiratory Unit is a 32-bed pulmonary medical intermediate care unit that provides care to patients with respiratory and medical illnesses. As a Respiratory Care Nurse, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
