SL Computational Linguist

Location: Remote

Long-Term Contract: $40-$60 per hour

Our client is seeking a SL Computational Linguist to join their team on a long-term contract. As a key member of the team, you will provide linguistic expertise for American Sign Language and contribute to the development of natural language processing (NLP) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-level understanding of ASL syntax, morphology, semantics, and phonology
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement NLP technologies
  • Design and implement data experiments to improve NLP models
  • Write scripts with Python for data processing and annotation
  • Work with the team to develop and maintain NLP models
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Computational Linguist, data scientist, or software engineer
  • Master's degree in linguistics, computational linguistics, language technologies, or related field
  • Experience with AI/NLP technologies and data experiments
  • Fluency in ASL or another sign language highly preferred
