About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist and/or Youth Support Specialist to join our team at One Love Agency in Idaho. In this role, you will provide invaluable support and mentorship to both adults and youth who may be experiencing mental health challenges, addiction recovery, and co-occurring disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and Manage Client Relationships: Develop and maintain a case load of adult and/or youth clients, providing ongoing support, advocacy, and mentorship to help them achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with therapists, social workers, medical personnel, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for the individuals you support.
  • Assess and Develop Support Plans: Conduct regular assessments and develop individualized support plans based on the unique needs and goals of each client.
  • Provide Emotional Support and Guidance: Offer emotional support, guidance, and encouragement to help individuals develop coping skills and resilience during addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Facilitate Peer Support Groups: Organize and lead peer support groups and other group activities to foster a sense of community and connection among clients.
  • Advocate for Client Rights and Needs: Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, assisting them in navigating systems such as mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, housing, and employment.
  • Document Client Progress: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in peer support services.
Requirements
  • Certification: Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) and/or Certified Youth Support Specialist (YSS) in the state of Idaho.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications in psychology, social work, addiction counseling, or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with adults and/or youth in a supportive or mentorship capacity, particularly in addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals dealing with mental health issues, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders; excellent communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, empathize, and build rapport with clients.
  • Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a case load, and prioritize tasks effectively; proficient computer skills for documentation and data entry; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
