Job Summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our Float Pool unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and families in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist professional nurses and caregivers in delivering patient care, including transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies.
  • Provide basic patient care, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, and positioning.
  • Accurately take and record vital signs, including weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen saturation.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges, and orient patients and their families to the environment.
  • Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies, and ensure patients arrive at appointments on time.
  • Clean, set up, and maintain rooms and equipment, and order and stock supplies.
  • Accurately document tasks performed on appropriate forms.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
  • OR six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
  • OR current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program.
  • OR current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
