Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Flexibility required for emergencies and extended hours as necessary.

Position Summary

Aldevra, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Medical Physicist to support the Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist and the Radiology Department. The role encompasses critical responsibilities in patient care, education, and research within the radiology sector. The Medical Physicist is pivotal in ensuring quality and safety in imaging, conducting acceptance testing, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care (80%):

  • Provide expert oversight as a Certified Therapeutic Medical Physicist (CTMP) for all physics and dosimetry operations related to radiation oncology services.
  • Ensure the quality management of radiation oncology services, including the development and implementation of Quality Management Program (QMP) policies.
  • Conduct quarterly quality assurance reports and maintain necessary licenses for radioactive materials and software.

Medical Physics Support:

  • Optimize and assess radiation treatment plans to ensure accurate dose delivery while prioritizing patient and staff safety.
  • Perform calculations, conduct systematic chart reviews, and maintain comprehensive records of equipment specifications and maintenance.
  • Manage dosimetry and calibrate treatment equipment, while overseeing new procedures and providing IT support.
  • Assist in brachytherapy procedures and ensure meticulous documentation of all radiation therapy activities.

Administrative Duties (20%):

  • Participate in service staff meetings and ensure prompt reporting of patient safety incidents and adverse events.
  • Complete all other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the ABR or certified by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) in Radiation Oncology Physics.
  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Medical Physics or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe Acrobat applications.
  • Military experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
