IonQ is revolutionizing the field of quantum computing with our cutting-edge technology. We're seeking an exceptional Experimental Physicist to join our team and contribute to the development of the world's most powerful full-stack quantum computer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, commission, and test a next-generation Barium trapped ion quantum computer from the ground up
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate the performance of critical sub-systems of a trapped-ion quantum computer
  • Demonstrate initial ion trapping and gate fidelity measurements in a new quantum computer
Requirements:
  • PhD in experimental physics or a related field with a deep understanding of atomic physics
  • Experience designing, characterizing, and operating complex trapped ion or neutral atom systems and experiments
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: ultracold atomic physics, ion trapping, laser spectroscopy, or precision metrology
  • 1+ years of relevant post-PhD experience
