Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Runner to join our team at Gale Hotels. As a Food Runner, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room by delivering food orders to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables promptly and accurately.
  • Act as the liaison between the Front of the House and Back of the House staff, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Communicate food orders to chefs, prioritizing orders based on customer preferences and special requests.
  • Assist wait staff with table setting, fetching and placing tableware, utensils, and napkins as needed.
  • Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and in accordance with safety standards.
  • Check in with customers to ensure their experience is satisfactory and take additional orders or refill water as needed.
  • Remove dirty dishes and utensils, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
  • Uphold high standards of sanitation and food safety, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Relay customer satisfaction feedback to management and relevant parties, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, handling requests and concerns with a positive attitude.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Strong understanding of hygiene and food safety protocols.
  • Physical ability to carry heavy trays and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.

Education and Language Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).

Work Environment:

The Food Runner will work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, interacting with customers, staff, and management. The ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly to emergencies is essential.
