About the Job

We are looking for a talented Rail Receiving and Discharging Specialist to join our East Coast Stevedoring Company team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently receiving and discharging rail cars, storing wood pellets in Dome Silos, and loading shipper-nominated vessels.

The ideal candidate will have experience in operating heavy machinery, monitoring PLC systems, and communicating effectively with railroads and other stakeholders. A strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures is essential, as well as the ability to work in tight spaces and at heights above 100 feet.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain rail car handling equipment, including bottom dump hopper cars and track mobile equipment.
  • Monitor PLC systems to ensure proper operation of pit, belt conveyors, dust collection systems, and environmental control systems.
  • Communicate effectively with railroads and other stakeholders to coordinate arrivals and departures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures, including regular inspections and maintenance of equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience running heavy equipment (e.g., Front End Loaders).
  • Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work at heights above 100 feet.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Estimated Salary: $62,000 - $82,000 per year, depending on experience.
