Position Overview

The Chief Maintenance Officer (CMO) will oversee all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimizing aircraft performance. This role involves managing maintenance programs, inspections, and project management for the assigned fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to the Clay Lacy team, embodying our vision and values.
  • Collaborate effectively with flight crews to meet operational expectations.
  • Be present for aircraft arrivals and departures at the home base and nearby airports.
  • Adjust daily workflows to enhance decision-making regarding maintenance resources.
  • Conduct pre/post-flight inspections and manage moderate to heavy maintenance schedules.
  • Foster an environment where team feedback is encouraged and addressed.
  • Maintain compliance with FARs and company policies regarding record-keeping.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered to clients and stakeholders.
  • Enhance vendor relationships and manage contracts effectively.
  • Anticipate and address client and crew needs to elevate service levels.
  • Represent the company in aviation matters with various organizations and agencies.
  • Promote high morale through effective communication and development programs.
  • Serve as a safety expert and liaise with safety organizations on industry concerns.
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks using the company’s safety management system.
  • Provide a 24-month maintenance projection to the Aircraft Management Team.
  • Review vendor invoices and ensure timely closure of work orders.
  • Update the leadership team on maintenance schedules and projections regularly.
  • Utilize tracking programs for aircraft discrepancies and maintenance events.
  • Conduct audits of aircraft and maintenance records quarterly.
  • Ensure all third-party maintenance providers are approved vendors.
  • Complete and submit all required documentation for maintenance activities.

Qualifications

Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (A&P).

Experience:

  • Must hold a valid US FAA A&P Certificate.
  • Corporate aviation experience is essential.
  • Ability to comply with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years in A&P roles with experience on the assigned aircraft model.
  • At least 3 years of management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Willingness to travel for maintenance events as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.

Physical Requirements: This role requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach, with potential lifting of up to 50 pounds.
