Job Title: Driver Trainee

At Airgas, we are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Driver Trainee to join our team. As a Driver Trainee, you will play a critical role in delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a company-provided straight or box truck to deliver compressed gas cylinders to customers.
  • Load, unload, and deliver compressed gas cylinders while interacting with Airgas customers.
  • Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensuring all safety items are in good working order.
  • Comply with all company policies and meet DOT requirements.
  • Assist inside the retail branch, servicing customers at the dock, front counter, and over the phone.
  • Attend safety meetings as scheduled before, during, or after daily shifts.
  • Assist with other driver's scheduled duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • A clean driving record and experience driving delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to attend and pass the driver training classes provided by Airgas.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime if necessary.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
