Transmission Lineman Trainee

Job Summary:

PacifiCorp is seeking a skilled Transmission Lineman Trainee to join our team. As a Transmission Lineman Trainee, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.
  • Develops proficiencies in the Journeyman Lineman Transmission job duties through 18 months of transmission specific on-the-job training.
  • Must be NCCCO crane certified (or industry equivalent certification).
  • Must have a valid card or be registered to complete the class within one year of acceptance into the job classification.
  • Must satisfactorily complete the transmission lineman training workbook and obtain signatures from Line Working Foreman Transmission, General Foreman PD – Transmission, and Manager.
  • Must pass a verbal and practical test administered by the Transmission Lineman Subcommittee.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent.
  • Must be a Journeyman Lineman, which includes completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman.
  • Must meet examining board review of skills and experience and will be required to pass testing through Rocky Mountain Power.
  • Candidate must have hot stick training and experience.
  • Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Additional Information:

This position requires a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening, conducted by a licensed physical therapist, to assure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job.

The job duties of Lineman require lifting in excess of 75 lbs from floor to waist and waist to overhead, carrying in excess of 75 lbs with both hands, and pushing and pulling in excess of 100 lbs of exertional force.

Job duties of the Lineman require sustained, awkward positions/postures including bending and twisting at the waist and neck; reaching forward, to the side, across the body and overhead.

Additional requirements of the Lineman position include forceful grip and pinch; manipulation of small objects; balancing on one or both legs during dynamic activities; manipulation of large objects during activities requiring balance and sustained awkward postures.
