Job Overview

MGS is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to become a vital part of our team. This role involves working on a 12-hour day shift within a 2-2-3 rotation.

As a Material Handler at MGS, your primary responsibility will be to assist the production team by ensuring that all necessary materials are prepared and available for press operations. This includes cleaning equipment and efficiently managing leftover materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, demonstrating safe work practices at all times.
  • Act as a role model for safety by maintaining professionalism and prioritizing the well-being of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Acquire knowledge of the quality management system and ensure compliance.
  • Implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Review material lists and prepare items to guarantee readiness for press operations.
  • Ensure that packaging and supplementary materials are accessible for production runs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding the status of production and material availability.
  • Manage the transfer of completed pallets and oversee the removal of waste from the production area.
  • Participate in the Line Clearance process to ensure proper inventory management.
  • Label all dryers with appropriate Material Identification Tags and confirm alignment with the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Thoroughly clean dryers, grinders, and conveying equipment during changeovers.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on drying equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all material handling areas at the end of each shift.
  • Accurately count, weigh, and verify raw materials.
  • Follow instructions for surge bin connections.
  • Ensure that all products being moved are accompanied by the correct move tickets.
  • Provide backup support for the production team as necessary, which may include operating a press.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
